Private detective STEPH wraps up an adultery case, coldly advising her client to leave her treacherous spouse behind. Content with her work, she is just about to wrap up her business for the week, when she receives a devastating message.

Arriving at a run down, secluded house in the forest, Steph is surprised to find numerous crude security measures in place. Despite this, Steph is able to gain access. Inside, she discovers evidence that the inhabitant was deep in some kind of genealogical research. Research that he was in the process of incinerating. This person was her adoptive father, UNCLE FRANK.

Departing, Steph encounters QUEENIE, lurking outside. This regal, yet alien looking woman reveals that she was Grant’s sister, and expresses disappointment in not seeing him before his death. She also infers that she is aware of Steph’s identity, offering to bring her into the family fold, which Steph declines. Later on, Steph comes to terms with who she really is. Something literally not of this world…
