Areeba Naveed is a writer and director from Pakistan, currently residing in Edinburgh, Scotland. She graduated from National College of Arts, Lahore with a distinction in 2019. During her bachelors degree, she wrote and directed two short films and a music video and her thesis film ‘Until The Quiet Comes’ (2020) got selected and screened at IFFSA Toronto in 2021. Upon graduation, she received a Norwegian Embassy Fellowship and made a short film ‘A Coup’ (2020) on the theme of LGBTQIA which was well-received at four international film festivals and qualified as a semi-finalist in the Queer International Film Festival. The following year she wrote and directed a five-episode, crime-thriller, web series called ‘Khoj’ (The Search). She directed a short film for an NGO (Group Development Project) on the issue of child labour ‘Fairy’ (2023). In 2023 she directed a film ‘About the Echoes We Carry’.
