Escape To Forevertron
Surviving a catastrophic robot invasion, the newly orphaned Jenna and Leo flee through a post-apocoliptic landscape in search of an off-world homecoming. This homage to the classic sci-fi movies of the 1950s combines public domain clips with original footage captured over the course of 30 days across several iconic locations throughout the western states.

Since 2008, Mariposa Pictures has been an ongoing experiment in community based film making. It started with our little family making movies together in the cotton fields behind our house. This was our way of having fun and being playful, and celebrating the seemingly "little" moments. Regardless of your age, we feel like that sense of child-like wonder is an essential part of the human experience. And this is a value we always embrace when making films together with family and friends in our neighborhoods.
We don't have the resources to hire professional actors, costume designers, or soundtrack composers. So we all just pitch in and offer what we can. We work with iPhone cameras, old public domain footage, and anything we can find around the house, to come up with something fun and quirky that also has a sort of lo-fi charm and hidden beauty.
Each project for Mariposa Pictures is a collaborative experience that pairs the wild imagination of children with a creative mentor to help inspire, guide, and direct the filming process. Every time we finish a film the children who were involved get to see a tangible example of how much their ideas can grow. It gives them a little glimpse of their creative potential while inspiring all of us to maintain that child-like wonder in everything we do.
