Experiencing Interruptions?

Episode 9 - You Can't Save Everyone

Aurora opens up and tells Terry she doesn’t know where her sister is. Terry suggests they go find her and the two grow closer. Jeremiah and Buddy are hanging out together in the park when Jeremiah thinks he sees his mother at the same park, following him. Charles tells Charlotte that he’s not ready for anything serious, ending any chance at building a relationship with her. Terry and some boys from school and their brothers decide to steal as many things as they can from a convenience store, another initiation and chance for Terry to prove his loyalty to the gang. Jeremiah’s mother follows him to his apartment and stalks him, making sure she knows where he lives now. Shawn tries to talk Terry about the importance of his decisions. Charles has a therapy session where he finally reveals to Mary his true reason for leaving Los Angeles. Terry and his gang steal from the convenience store. Except this time, something tragically goes wrong. Terry ends up in an interrogation room where Cherise explains to Charles that Terry is going back to the state, a juvenile detention center and is leaving her care, for good. Jeremiah is nearly kidnapped by his birth mother. After finding out what’s been going on behind her back with the two clients Christie has assigned to Charles, she justifiably fires Charles and threatens to have him arrested for his negligence of duties and breach of contract. Charles now is back to square one, in a totally new city.

Director Biography - Ronnel Ricardo Parham

Ronnel Ricardo Parham is a multi-award-winning creator, writer, producer, and actor. Ronnel has been making films since 2017, when he formed his production company, 5R Productions. Since its inception, 5R Productions has created short films, web-series’, and TV movies that have won over 50 awards nationally and internationally. He even acted and co-produced a web series entitled “Class Act” that got on the ballot for a Primetime Emmy Nomination in 2019. After a few years of writing, producing and acting in his projects, Ronnel thought it’d only make sense to venture into the directing world. In 2020, Ronnel directed his first short film entitled “Us Against Them.” The film, inspired by a true story, tells the story of a black cop who’s torn between the injustices he sees on his own police force and his duty to protect all people, but especially his own people in the African American communities. Ronnel just finished directing the next 7 episodes of his award-winning show, Odd Man Out, which got picked up by Peacock in July 2022 and is also streaming on Tubi and Prime Video.

Director Statement

After many requests and much anticipation, I proudly present the next chapter of Odd Man Out: The Series. In these next episodes, we show Charles making a major life change and moving to Atlanta, GA. This show is somewhat based on my own life experiences as I've stepped into the Director's Chair as well as writing, producing and casting these episodes. With such a big life change, we'll see if Charles' past will continue to hold him back or set him free.
