Entry
Driven by a frenzied score, and stunning choreography, "Entry" follows one woman’s journey as she revisits key moments of the last year — in order to find her voice. "Entry" was developed in collaboration with indigenous artists based in Ogaa Po Ogeh — the occupied Tewa territory known as Santa Fe, New Mexico. This art-forward film examines the nature of isolation, activation, transformation, and reintegration.

What happens when we allow ourselves the space to listen to the pieces within us we’ve let lie dormant?
ENTRY aims to explore the nature of the shadow self- the aspects of our psyche only accessible when we stop and listen. As society slowly re-enters what we deem as normality, and after the collective trauma we’ve experienced, the aim of our film was to find our way back through dance.
As a white boy living in Los Angeles it was important to explore this moment through collaboration; ENTRY is choreographed by indigenous dancer Anne Pesata from New Mexico and supported by an entirely BIPOC cast. The text is written by indigenous poet Bluebird, who made human ecology the center of our work. Collaborating with Santa Fe based composer Alex Simon of ToneRanger and Sovereign Sounds Project, which facilitates recording projects in the Indigenous communities of the Southwest, we built an operatic and cinematic world through which to build our narrative.
At this moment in history there is no more important work than the preservation of our planet and the ecosystems that reside; as an artist it is clear to me that the only way to approach this work is to allow ourselves the space to go deep within so that we may awaken and heal.
