Entrance Gate
Within the area of customs everything operates infinitely, at the same pace, without the obvious human presence.
Within this turnover, the concept of oblivion is raised. The machines are moving at all times in order to fulfill what they were created for. To carry out this work in their absence would be long and painful for the human body. Their movement is tedious and seemingly light, even though the cranes we watch weigh tons. To handle them is not as simple as we perceive it.
A small state of cranes and containers, located within a city, has its own rules and need its own time for the preparation of its work. If the definition for a machine should be more or less the one given by Rollo, in which machine is a combination of resilient measures, each of which has a special function and is under human control so that it performs work, the working machine was a real machine: because its components, although they were made up of human bones, nerves and muscles, had been reduced to their stripped mechanical elements and strictly confined to carrying out their mechanical tasks.
