Emmai Alaquiva, once homeless, is now a four-time Emmy Award-winning film director/photographer for Roc Nation, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, CBS Sports Network, Rihanna’s FENTY brand, AMAZON, BMW, The ROOTS and more.
 
Additionally, this poised TEDx speaker has worked with some of the world’s most notable icons from Harry Belafonte, Dr. Maya Angelou to Questlove and Colman Domingo. The talent has been utilized by prestigious institutions including Carnegie Hall, The Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center and The Smithsonian Institute. In 2023, Alaquiva was selected to help oversee the film visuals by Roc Nation for Jay Z's ground-breaking exhibit, ‘The BOOK OF HOV’. Most recently, he was appointed by Governor Josh Shapiro to serve as Vice Chair of the ARTS for the State of Pennsylvania and his philanthropic community impact has been recognized by President Barack Obama.
 
His latest project is a feature documentary film about Black maternal health called ‘The Ebony Canal’ narrated by Academy Award Winner, Viola Davis. With a mission of crystallizing the human spirit through cinematic and purposeful storytelling his palpable work has been featured on Good Morning America, Forbes Magazine and The New York Times.
