Director Statement

Elsewhere/Forward was a way to honor the people in my life and the powerful memories that have stuck with me. Growing up, I've moved a lot, leading to multiple upheavals. Letting go has been a constant struggle—not always easy to achieve. Fear of abandonment, the warmth of motherhood, undying friendships, glimpses of love, and intimate bonds—these are the subjects I wanted to seamlessly blend together. The film explores how dreams can feel like memories, and memories can feel like dreams.
