Born and raised in São Paulo, Brasil, Guilherme Pedra is a recent graduate from the Film and Television Production program at NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
He is passionate about art & life and often explores themes such as loneliness and his Brazilian identity in his films. "Elsewhere - A Flor Azul" is his first short film.
A film about "saudade" (a uniquely Brazilian word that describes a profound sense of longing), "Elsewhere - A Flor Azul" deals with the enormities of life, death, love and art - themes that are all tied up with and explored through the relationship between two artistic siblings. This very personal cinematic experience is dedicated to my sister and to my grandparents and speaks to my fear of losing of my loved ones. I hold this film, my first short, very close to my heart.
