Ella Purton is a young producer & filmmaker from South London. With a passion for fantastical fiction, she explores strong female characters and queer stories from personal experiences and passions. She understands the importance of representation in the media and how identity can be impacted and aided by seeing oneself reflected on screen.
She has attended many prestigious schools for Film Production including The BRIT School and London Screen Academy which are both prolific in their teaching and opportunities for young filmmakers. At 16 she was also accepted into the Ghetto Film School fellowship programme in London, and through this wrote and directed her second short at the National Film & Television School.
Her most recent film, ‘End This Now’, which she wrote and directed, was part of the Official Selection at BIFA qualifying London Breeze Film Festival and has been seen by more than 25,000 people online. She is currently in post-production on a film she produced in collaboration with Dulwich Picture Gallery, set for a summer 2025 release.
