Elizabeth Griesser, a 21 year old student at the University of Southern California, is a writer-director originating from Charlotte, North Carolina but is currently located in Los Angeles. Elizabeth learned to balance the unique mixture of Southern society and developing urban terrain through various art forms such as theater, writing, dance, music, and visual art. Religion was a large part of her social and moral foundations, but early on Elizabeth often questioned her Christian traditions and doubted her faith in organized religion. Turning away from the church, her fascination with history, philosophy, and human rights expanded, which only grew her love of storytelling and connection. Her introduction to film began at an early age when her grandfather exposed her to his lifelong collection of analog movies, and then transformed as she focused on acting throughout her education. Elizabeth’s experience and dedication to performance, alongside her attraction to fantasy and mythology, molded her storytelling to explore human relationships and foundations through a delicate mix of mysticism and realism. Her theological roots, however, could not be discarded, and have become a point of inspiration and discussion for many of her stories. Like many folklores, Elizabeth tends to blend genre and structure, inclduding comedy, fantasy, drama, and experimental work, in order to create unique but relatable narratives that bridge universal beliefs and emotions. Through the distinctive medium of filmmaking, Elizabeth aims to embrace innovative storytelling through notable visuals, eccentric characters, and poetic themes in hopes of crafting introspective and authentic stories.
