Eliana Ritts is a media anthropologist, filmmaker, and curator. She is currently a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at University of Rhode Island and Ocean Nexus, a global ocean equity organization. Her research centers Indigenous media sovereignty, Taiwanese and Asia-Pacific screen cultures, and politics of representation in ocean governance. Eliana serves on the selection committee for the Taiwan International Ethnographic Film Festival, and is currently curating an educational collection of films themed around ocean justice. Eliana's first film, Tea for Taiwan, premiered at the Margaret Mead Film Festival in 2019.
