Director Biography - Katie Steinbauer

Katie Steinbauer's passion for the art of entertainment began in acting for stage. Seeking to improve herself further she turned to acting for film and television classes, and training with Aaron Jackson. While working on her first union set, she discovered that she had an odd fascination with the production aspect of film, which then led her to the IB FIlm curriculum. These courses under Jody McCabe and Lindsay Burgess equipped her for her creative capabilities, and gave her the ability to direct her first short film, Elephant.

Director Statement

This short film was a labor of love. It contains a piece of me and my grandparents that I've now made immortal, and that's all I wanted to do; to create something beautiful.
