A heart falls from the sky into Alexis's hands. This leads her to start a journey through different stations of a surreal journey, which will reveal the state of alienation, self-destruction and dehumanization in which we live.

Director Biography - Valentina Paz Camus

Valentina Camus, 27 years old, Chilean. Degree in audiovisual arts mention direction and editing 2014-2020. Degree in choreographic composition oriented to dance theater 2016-2022, both careers completed at National University of Arts (UNA) , currently working on a thesis project. She is a Vinyasa Flow teacher. She works as a Pilates Mat Instructor and Personal Trainer at the AMAIP Institute. She participates actively in Proyecto Semoviente, a high performance training, delivered by Andrea Manso Hoffman. Valentina is a young artist whose interest is focused on crossing the performing arts with the cinematographic ones. She considers herself a multidisciplinary artist who loves movement in all its forms. Colossal; Collapse Symphony, Waltz of the End of the World and Ascending are some of his directed and choreographed works. Also “Electrocardiograma, a dance film”, a feature experimental film that has been promoted since 2019, is currently in post-production to be released in 2023. In 2020 she founded the production company Limitrofe for specialized content in dance and LGTBIQA+. Today she is working as a performer/creator in co-production with Tecnópolis in the play Ctrl + X to premiere at the Dance Festival in Tecnópolis during 2023

Director Statement

Electrocardiograma is an experimental screen dance film project fostered by the necessity of producing/making cinema from the perspective of a dancer / a body that dances / a dancing body. It is framed within the building process of one's own identity through the art and, more specifically, within the search of an authorial language in the audiovisual sphere/area/field that is consistent with a more urgent task: the dance / dance . Electrocardiograma seeks to reconcile a way of production and composition that prioritises dance and the performers in relation to the camera as a fundamental work.
The innovation that our video dance offers/proposes is the research of a cinema-experience in which we want the camera to be one more dancer / another dancer, enriching itself by the knowledge of both disciplines in order to create a new language as the result of hybridization. Our movie deals with nowadays human topics/themes motivated by the generational pressure of living in a chaotic and changing time. Its technical and artistic team was made up of people belonging to the LGBTIQA+ community with the idea/premise of producing in a latin american, transfeminist and third world way. Choosing Buenos Aires as the preferred location, the city is filled with dance and questions us about how to face these current times where "the only that is left/ that remains before the inevitable collapse is to dance, to move, it is to resist"
