Director Biography - Keene McRae

Keene's name is often mispronounced. The mispronunciation he hears the most is "Keenee," which he thinks sounds kind of cute. The correct pronunciation is just like the word:

keen
/kēn/
adjective: keen; comparative adjective: keener; superlative adjective: keenest

1. (of a sense) highly developed
2. having or showing great perception or insight
3. (of the edge or point of the blade) sharp
4. (of the air or wind) extremely cold; biting
5. (of a smell, light, or sound) penetrating; clear
6. having or showing eagerness or enthusiasm
7. interested in or attracted by (someone or something)
8. excellent
9. (of prices) very low; competitive

Keene thinks numbers 1, 2, 6, 8, and 9 make up a good definition of himself. He hopes to one day remove 9 from this list.

Keenee is a (relatively) young filmmaker and actor who never attended film school -- or any college for that matter. Keener is from Birmingham, Alabama and now lives in Los Angeles.

Keenest works very hard to make good music videos and films. Sometimes people agree with him and give him awards.

"...a truly artistic video with brilliant and dynamic camera angles and shots..." -American Songwriter

Because the lyrics reference Joseph Campbell, when more* came up with the concept for the video, they thought it would be fun to do their own version of "The Hero’s Journey." To compliment the cyclical "Hero's Journey" I shot the entire video on a 360º camera (which made editing a lot more difficult).
