The documentary follows the daily life of Francesco, a 19-year-old who has chosen to be a goatherd.
Through breathtaking images of mountain landscapes, viewers are taken on an immersive journey of his world. His connection with the goats goes beyond simply being a shepherd: it is a relationship of trust, respect, and deep affinity.
The boy shares his connection with the goats, explaining his vision and love for them. Through his story, universal themes of dedication, responsibility, and the ability of animals to bring joy and comfort to humans emerge.
The documentary also highlights the challenges Francesco faces in keeping this special relationship alive. One of these is definitely the conflict with his parents. However, his passion and love for animals push him to overcome all obstacles.

Director Biography - Irene Zgraggen

Born in 2001 in Locarno, the city of the film festival, Irene was immediately passionate about film, particularly documentaries. Her passion grew more and more each year to the point that she was pushed to study film at the new academy of fine arts (NABA) in Milan. She has been attending the faculty of "Cinema and animation" since 2022. She is currently working on some projects in the role of producer. In July 2023 she finished her first short film-documentary "El Cabrer" as a director and producer.
