Attappadi : The beautiful landscape that stretches along the south of western ghats in India. More than 11,000 tribal families live there.
Since 1940 just like all other tribal areas, Attappadi also became
the gold mine of encroachers.
Many of the tribal families got ousted from the land where they
have born and lived till then. Till date in spite of so many agitations, government promises, government actions these tribals are fighting up for the rights to live in the land where they have born.
The miseries of these tribal people especially for their fights for
the title deeds of the land where they have born and lived till date is depicted here through the life of a tribal family and the Mooppan (Tribal Head) himself.

Director Biography - Sree Prakash

Mr. Sreeprakash has been working in Malayalam film industry
and Bollywood as well for the past 30 years. Associated with several
award winning and Commercial film makers. Has directed three
Feature films in Malayalam. In his debut film “ Gamanam ” only Mr.
Thilakan got the Kerala State film award for best actor. Has done
documentaries for PRD Govt. of Kerala, Channels, Telefilms and
Telecinema. Recently only he has completed the documentary
the PRD under the Azad Ka Amrut Mahotsav Category.

Director Statement

This is a short attempt to throw light into the miseries of the
tribal people through the life of a tribal family. All the artists who
have acted are from tribal community. Smt.Nanji Rangan has tuned and sung the tribal song “VANAMU ETHTHE.....”
