Edoardo Smerilli (Fermo, April 15, 1991). After living a year in London in 2010 and attending the Oxford House College, he graduated in 2015 in History of Film Theoris at the University of Bologna (Undergraduate Programme in DAMS: Arts, Music and Performance Studies). During the second academic year he gathered some study colleagues to found a cinematographic collective inspired by a shared passion for cinema. During the period of study, he worked on the set of three short films. In 2014 he joined the Maxman Coop studio in Bologna, serving as editor and assistant in various post-production phases. In the same year he wrote and also directed, his first self-produced short film “Discidium”, screened in various shows and festivals around Italy. Still in 2015, inside the Maxman Coop. worked to the feature films, awarded at Biografilm Festival in 2016 and at the 19th Shanghai Film Festival, “See you in Texas” directed by Vito Palmieri, following the post-production stage. In 2017 he starts a Master in Screenwriting and Directing at “film and Tv school of Academy of Performing Arts in Prague” (FAMU International) of Prague, where he graduates with his second shortfilm “The Puzzle”. "Mise en abyme" is his third short film.
