Experiencing Interruptions?

Eden: A Space Between

Originally created as a homage piece to '2OO1: A Space Odyssey', Eden is a journey through the mind of one man and his obsession with creating his own utopia. To get everything he wants, David Floyd must travel inside himself and pass this final test.

Eden is Max Tomaszewski's first short film and was created as a concept film, to be recreated on a much larger scale, at a later date.

Director Statement

The original idea behind this movie was to create a sci-fi adventure short film that didn’t actually feature any spaceships or astronauts. Instead, I wanted to tell a story about an exploratory journey into the mind. Eden, on the surface, is a love story. However, the reason I wanted to create a homage piece to Kubrick’s ‘2OO1: A SPACE ODYSSEY’ was to delve into the ideas of transcendence, higher consciousness and mankind’s need to control its own reality. Themes that 2OO1 handled so well.

This film was shot over the space of a few days in only 3 locations and only 1 actor. With absolutely no budget, everything was built and created from scratch by either myself or with the help of my small crew.

EDEN: A Space Between is a short concept film for a much larger scale story I hope to one-day create.
