Earworm

A composer struggling with writer's block receives inspiration from a ravenous parasite.

When our composer is stymied by not only his own blockage, but outside influences, he is distressed, and hopes to drink away his problems. Fortunately for him, a package arrived with an exotic present inside, a music box with an enjoyable, tinkling melody, and a strange piece of art inside. After a night attempting, in vain, to recreate the melody, our composer awakes to inspiration, and begins composing in earnest. However, all good deeds do not go unpunished, as he awakes from his night of writing in terrible pain. He finds that there is something in his head, literally, and he has to get it out. But at what cost? And what are you willing to do to have the things you love?
