EXPENDABLE
In this film I examine consumerism up-close-and-personal and take an intimate look, a psychological close-up, at the life of an excessive consumer. We are all familiar with the ecological footprint of consumption on the planet; the immense production of trash and horrendous poisons that destroy the environment. Here, I focus on the impact of consumption on human nature, how it is manifested on the human personality. My goal is to present an extreme consumerism that goes beyond limits and de-humanizes the protagonist. Reality is exhausted in expendable objects and relationships, so that the protagonist’s life is spiralling down tragically. In the end, the protagonist does not find a way to escape because she does not realise the issue. She does not understand that she treats as expendable not only those around her, but also herself.
