Director Biography - Amber Pérez

Amber Pérez is a Latina-American filmmaker based in Miami, Florida. She has received numerous accolades for both directing and screenwriting. Her goal is to become a producer, director, and screenwriter, so she can platform artists who want to tell stories about stigmatized issues. Previously, she was the director, screenwriter, and editor for the award-winning film Shinigami. Pérez is currently pursuing her BFA at Florida State University’s College of Motion Picture Arts.

Director Statement

This film was loosely based on true conversations that happened between me and people in my life. I have always dealt with people commenting on my looks, saying that I look too masculine or like a prostitute. I decided to make a film that encompasses my response to those comments: It’s just clothes.
