Erin has been writing, directing and acting for many years. She's most known for the web series she created with her children called Your Neighbors The Neumeyers. This is her seventh short film as a director and her first entry into a film festival.
It was important to me to participate in the Easter Seals Disability Film Challenge because seeing someone like you on screen can be very empowering. I hope this festival also brings awareness to those behind the camera and on the crew - it'd be great if more folks with disabilities were hired!
It's personally important because my daughter has Type 1 diabetes, Epilepsy and ADD. Her Epilepsy causes a learning delay, so even though she is interested in acting, it's difficult to land the job when you have diabetes gadgets stuck where cameras can see them, trouble concentrating and behave a few years younger than you look. This was an opportunity for her to be the star of the show and explain a little about Type 1 diabetes.
