This short animation is my personal experience of a sexual assault when intoxicated in 2019, that I have PTSD from. The time of the assault I presented as female, to make up for what I felt was my lack of femininity I was overtly sexual. Which I still have shame over and blame this trauma on.
An experimental animation. Depicting some symptoms of PTSD, flashbacks in nightmares and insomnia/sleep deprivation.
TRIGGER WARNING: Visuals depict/suggest - sexual assault, trauma, drug use.
The Making:
Plays with how to create motion with paint on canvas. Paint used was mixed acrylic and gouache. Each frame shot with downshot camera set up transfering to Dragon-frame. Raw frames then edited with Adobe After Effects. Sound is made with Waveform.
The beginning plays the beginning of a sleep breathing exercise from FitBit – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wEDoKm40Yc

I am exploring and experimenting with various aspects of my life and art. Trying to find myself within the confines of multiples of social identities. I am sober, I am queer, I go by they them pronouns and gender neutral terms, and i am an artist. I can only hope to see the making of my identities represented and translated in my work.
