The Durham Film Festival is a North East England student and professional short film festival. Over the year's we've accepted entries from around the world and have brought in industry professionals such as Academy Award Winner Chris Menges to judge the projects. We aim to celebrate short films made from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures!

Official Film Submission deadline: Midnight 24th May

ENTRY FEES

Submissions from student productions can be entered into the festival for the small fee of $5. All other submissions will incur a fee of $20.

SUBMISSIONS

Submissions should be no longer than 20 minutes (and please be aware that longer length films will be harder to fit into the schedule).

All film dialogue in a foreign language should be subtitled.
Films depicting a sensitive topic or theme should contain appropriate warnings in the form of a title card before the feature.
Films should contain 100% original material and the film makers involved should hold all rights to submitted material.

MULTIPLE ENTRIES:

Multiple entries from the same person or entity are accepted into the festival provided each entry has been charged the relevant entry fee.
