Dumb Body

With the short "DUMB BODY" director Vincenzo Stellone wants to give voice to those women who suffer from maternity leave. Almost all women live motherhood as an affirmation of their being a woman. Only those who are mothers are women. Social pressures and expectations towards women can make incomplete, unsatisfied and sometimes psychologically ill mothers feel. Many women find comfort in adopting dolls known as "Reborn dolls", very similar to real children.
It is not easy to empathize and understand what drives women to care and pet silicone babies as if they were in the flesh. The protagonist, a missed mother, experiences a storm of emotions that leads to an emotional imbalance that possibly ends in an awareness.

Director Biography - Vincenzo Stellone

Vincenzo Stellone, videomaker and photographer from Palermo.
He studied scenography at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo and later dedicated himself to video shooting and photography. In the years following graduation, he moved to Florence to obtain the diploma of shooting technician, editor and director of photography at the film school S.N.C.I.
He currently attends the master’s degree course of Cinema and Video at the Academy of Fine Arts in Palermo.
During his years of study he participated in various projects, including in 2018 the documentary "Hands of sound" shot in Greece, as a director of photography and cameraman for director Kristian Xipolias.
In 2019 he also participates in the videoclip "Mybrothers the crags" for the Greek rock group "Bone rave" as director of photography and cameraman, for the director Kristian Xipolias.
He participated in the production of the short film "Daphnecomplex" as director of photography, cameraman and editor during the Kino festival 2017 in Palermo, for the director "Eva Di Fiore".
