Drying Up
Drying Up is a moving exploration of grief and memory, set against the backdrop of a costal village where the sea represents both aliteral and metaphorical force. The film delves into the life of Walter, an elderly man who, through a deeply personal ritual, seeks tomaintain a connection with his lost wife. The story unfolds through a series of reflective and emotionally charged scenes, capturing the essence of love and loss through Walter’s unique and symbolic actions.
Through moments of tender revelation and silent reflection, Drying Up invites viewers to consider how we carry the memory of those we have loved and lost.

Hi, I'm Bence Nagy. I’m 22 years old and currently learning film studies in University. This is my third shortfilm project in my hometown, Horsham. Making films was my dream from a very young age, when I first saw an old camera. From that point I knew nothing can stop me from becoming a director.
Drying Up is a drama about a loving husband, Walter, who lost his wife and since then, he pours water on himself to feel closer to his wife, but who knows what happened to his wife, Orla? Walter doesn’t even smile anymore, but maybe with the help of a friendly boy everything could change. We only used a 1000£ budget to make this film. I make low budget movies because I don’t think you need a huge budget to make something creative, creativity comes in when you have to solve problems. I love every aspect of filmmaking from writing all the way to editing and posting.
