DRUDO

The short movie shows the story of Maria, a girl from the roman suburbs, called by the police for an interrogatory, regarding the investigations on his former boyfriend, Angelo, wanted for robbery. Maria's words become the glue to put together all the pieces of the conflicted story, characterized by episodes which reveal the young woman's solitude and her ways to deal with it. Her story weaves together with Alice's, who's the only one who seems to understand Maria and helps her feeling less lonely; this encounter between these two girls will change their lives. Finally, the discovery of Maria's pregnancy and the Angelo's insistence to have Maria back with him, will bring Alice to hitting him with a bottle and bury him, in tears under the sand of beach enlightened by the sunset. Alice's tragedy will become even heavier, worsened by her guilt for a murder happened behind Maria's back. the plot takes places in the typical suburb environment in which the characters lead their lives resigned at their destiny. The aim of the direction is to confront present, past and future in a simple story, which tells about the place and atmosphere in a non-temporal and nostalgic way. The cinematography, which lacks virtuosity but is very fine in the technique, emphasizes a "humble" genre, based on emotions, on the author soul in the first place and on the spectator's one then.
