Director Biography - Cosmin Ovidiu Tiu

Born in a small, former-industrial Romanian city, which less than 40 years ago was under a communist regime, I have been paradoxically brought up in an environment which encouraged me to form my own opinions and discover what truly makes me passionate. Cinema has played an essential role in my teenage development, as I had the privilege to discover diverse stories and struggles from all around the world. This, in turn, proved to be an incentive for my own creative side, which finally found its home in filmmaking. At 17, I truly believe I can connect to audiences through the raw and vulnerable way I write, direct and shoot each short film. Having been accepted in the past at numerous film festivals, including the well-known ,,Très Court Film Festival", I truly hope my work with fellow non-profesionnal teens from my local community can provide a place of reflection for everyone.
