The Dreamweaver Film Festival is a semi-annual event hosted by JUMP (Jack’s Urban Meeting Place) in Boise, Idaho. JUMP is a nonprofit, interactive creative center and community gathering place. It’s a place for everyone to discover new possibilities and explore their potential. The Dreamweaver Film Festival initiative aims to connect the greater Idaho community through film and inspire anyone to become a filmmaker.

Dreamweaver Film Festival will be held on January 18, 2025, and accepts all genres of short films from filmmakers based in Idaho and the surrounding region. Films must not exceed 30 minutes in length. Film submission is free. All submissions will be considered for acceptance to the film festival based on content and time limit.

The Dreamweaver Film Festival is part of a larger Dreamweaver Collective that aims to engage the community in the different elements of film production and learn to become filmmakers. Short films developed during the Dreamweaver Collective workshops will also be screened during the Dreamweaver Film Festival.

Eligibility: Dreamweaver Film Festival accepts short films with a maximum runtime of 30 minutes. Films must be roughly equivalent to PG-13 rating or under. FILMS MUST BE PRODUCED IN IDAHO OR GREATER MOUNTAIN WEST REGION.

Submission Process: To submit a film to the Dreamweaver Film Festival, you must fill out an entry form FilmFreeway. The entry form will ask for basic information about the film, including the title, director’s name, runtime, and a brief synopsis. You will also need to provide a digital copy of the film by providing a link to the online screener of FilmFreeway. The festival does not accept physical copies of films.

Entry Fee: There is no entry fee for submitting a film to the Dreamweaver Film Festival.

Deadlines: The Dreamweaver Film Festival has a submission deadline of January 4, 2025.

Screening Format: If your film is selected for the festival, you will be required to provide a high-quality digital copy of the film for screening. The festival accepts a variety of formats, including DCP, ProRes, and H.264.

Notification: The festival will notify all entrants via email regarding the status of their submission. If your film is selected for the festival, you will be notified the Friday before the festival begins. If your film is not selected, you will still receive an email notification.

Rights and Permissions: By submitting a film to the Dreamweaver Film Festival, you are confirming that you have obtained all necessary rights and permissions for the film, including music, images, and talent releases. You are also granting the festival permission to screen the film during the festival and use clips or images from the film for promotional purposes.

    This was a great festival! The year I attended (2025) was all Idaho films (I believe?) but it was great to see such a wide variety of genres and styles all from within one state. I'll definitely be back!
