Director Biography - Edward Nyahay, Michelle Danyn

MICHELLE DANYN

Michelle is a Southern California native from Fullerton, Orange County. She studied Theatre and Art History at USC and has since then been active in various film, theatre, and modeling projects.

EDWARD NYAHAY

From a very young age, Edward Nyahay found himself always gravitating towards the arts. He started off drawing, then writing and acting, and by the time he was 22, he ventured out west to Los Angeles from the east coast to pursue a career in filmmaking. After graduating Magna Cum Lade from UMass, Boston with an Art Major, Theater Minor and film concentration, he landed his first job in the entertainment industry with writer/director, Zalman King, who literally taught him all aspects of pre-production, production and post.

Edward Nyahay studied on camera acting and voice from some of the best coaches in Los Angeles (Bobbie Shaw Chance, Richard Brander, Max Wasa, Kelle Rhoads) and has created his own techniques based off of everything he learned, and implements them into everything he does from directing film to theater and running Media Arts programs around the country.

Edward Nyahay has written and directed five feature films: BUG BOY ADVENTURES, KRUSH THE SERPENT (NY Film Festival 2002), MUST LOVE HORROR, THE WITCH CHRONICLES, THE WITCH CHRONICLES 2: SPIRITS OF AYAHUASCA, and a few short films including, but not limited to CHINA DOLL HORROR and DRAINED. The Witch Chronicles was picked up for distribution through Adler & Associates Entertainment. He is also the author of the novel WINGS OF FLESH: EXPEL YOUR DEMONS ENJOY THE FLIGHT, published through XLibris.

Edward Nyahay has created and implemented the media arts program in high schools around the country including South Florida (Piper High School), NYC (MLK JR. HS), the Bronx (Evanderchilds HS) and currently Los Angeles (Crespi Carmelite High School). He has also directed a play at MLK JR HS and children’s theater, an original production, in Ft. Lauderdale. He currently has close to two videos that he produced and/or edited/directed on Youtube and other various online websites.

Also, being in the music industry and creating his own genre called GOTHOLIC, Edward Nyahay has 7 albums distributed through Tate Music Group (iTunes, Amazon…etc.), and brings his love for this medium into his projects. Edward Nyahay has mastered the skills of his own artistic expression and has inspired thousands of students getting them into top film schools around the country.

Edward Nyahay is an up and coming director that will leave you begging for more.

Director Statement

I originally wrote "Drained" over a year ago following my own blood donation. I later adapted it for the stage to be included in the "Twilight Zone" inspired short play festival, "TV LIVE," produced by Force of Nature Productions at The Actor's Group theater in Burbank. Following this production, I decided to produce, direct, and star in my own film adaption. However, I realized that was a huge undertaking for a beginning filmmaker. Luckily, my good friend, Edward Nyahay, is a talented and experienced filmmaker. I was so pleased with how passionate he was to do this after reading the script and meeting with me. Edward and I combined our ideas and have made this film something much more than I thought it would be.
