Dr. Jenine Lowery is a licensed therapist, mental health advocate, filmmaker, and professional speaker with over twenty years of experience in the mental health field. Her work centers on breaking the stigma surrounding Black mental health and elevating underrepresented voices through storytelling.
Dr. Lowery’s passion for mental wellness and authentic representation led her to filmmaking, where she uses narrative and documentary forms to foster dialogue, healing, and social change. Her debut documentary, Black Female Therapist, has been screened at colleges, mental health organizations, and conferences across the country, sparking critical conversations about mental health, race, and identity.
In addition to her work in film, Dr. Lowery is a Mental Health First Aid Instructor, an Amazon Best-Selling Author, and has been featured multiple times as an expert commentator on TVOne’s Fatal Attraction. She believes storytelling is a powerful vehicle for advocacy and transformation, and she continues to create work that bridges mental health education with cultural healing.
