Double Protection
“Double Protection” explores a chain of memories, and their intra-generation transference to create a family narrative and a search for self-identity.
We accompany Jaqui and her children on their pictorial journey between the past and the present; history and memory; migrations and traumas. It is a family memoir, a testimony to the power of photography creating a visual archive spanning three generations, a net of continuance from Poland to Brazil; from Brazil to Israel; from the 1930’s to the 21st century.

Gazing through family photographs and video archives of my late father and mother, and sharing impressions with my children Lior and David, I dive into different depths of memory uncovering the power of visual imaging to tell us stories and impact on our emotions shaping our identity. It aims to understand how still photography and video documentation, which have both the potential to be immediate and lasting, can provoke such a visceral, emotional, and psychological response on the viewer strengthening intergenerational connections.
