The Darkness (original title: Dorcha)

Dorcha stars Amelia Eve (Jamie from 'The Haunting of Bly Manor'), Adam Bond (Whiskey Cavalier), Cyril Blake, Katherine Hartshorne and Jo Hart (Jurassic Park: Fallen Kingdom).

Synopsis:
Lisa (Amelia Eve) and David (Cyril Blake), a writer and an entrepreneur couple from London travel to Ireland for their working holiday, while staying at David's inherited house at the quiet Ballyvadlea. The short trip was planned so Lisa could start on her second book and David could work on his start-up business plan, but unbeknownst to either of them, the house was built on the cursed ground.
Lisa's curiosity leads her to the discovery of the personal memoir of Niav, the mysterious woman who once lived at the property a century ago, hence opening the long-closed doors and in doing so awakens the demons within.

Director Biography - Tharun Mohan

Tharun is a British Indian Filmmaker, born and raised in Kerala, India in humble backgrounds, grew up watching Satyajit Ray, Guru Dutt and modern legends like Anurag Kashyap and Mani Rathnam. He always wanted to be a filmmaker but didn't have the means to, he pursued a career in IT and received a scholarship and moved to the UK in 2005 for higher studies, since then he has had various roles in IT and Database until making a jump to his life long dream of being a filmmaker.

Dorcha is Tharun's first feature film as a Writer/Director.

Starring:

Katherine Hartshorne - An up and coming versatile actress with a vast amount of experience in theatre and voice acting.
Cyril Blake - A theater actor with extensive experience in television and films.

Dorcha is a homage to classic horror thrillers, the likes of Rosemary's Baby, The Innocents, and El Orfanato. The title 'Dorcha' means darkness in Irish-Gaelic, Its a horror thriller, told in a non-linear narrative, the story revolves around two women separated by two centuries, death, demon and deception as the ingredients and the female protagonist at its core.
Dorcha was a dream come true to us, it was self-funded by the help of friends, and made with an unbeatable crew and amazing cast.
A special thanks to our Producer Honey Subin, who wore numerous hats throughout the production, from the first line of story written to its deliverables.
