Rachel Brethauer is an accomplished writer, professor, and survivor of the advertising and big tech worlds. She's won multiple awards for her writing and been a semi-finalist in numerous TV fellowships and labs, including NBC's Writers on the Verge, the CineStory TV Fellowship and Fox Writers Labs.
Rachel spends her days promoting Sundance Collab to emerging filmmakers and teaching Screenwriting, Television History and Media & Cultural Studies courses at Loyola Marymount University.
In her writing, Rachel makes sense of the sacrifices and compromises ambitious women are forced to make, then bleeds them onto the page. Her first feature film, An American Zealot, is available on a streaming platform near you.
Originally from the Toronto area, Rachel makes her home in Los Angeles with her husband and two cats.
