Don’t Cry Darling
‘Don’t Cry Darling’ explores the destructive side effects of superficiality towards women within the contemporary media landscape whilst being filmed entirely on a smartphone. The film develops and represents these ideas through a surrealistic experimental film style using various symbolic representations through multiple objects, moody aesthetics, styles and tones, presenting a dark and disturbing montage. ‘Don’t Cry Darling’s’ style reflects a fastpasted montage with a DIY, TV influenced by the DIY feminist movement, and the chaotic nature of visual and media formats such as commercial tv, advertisement, and entertainment. The film will be paired with fast electronic music with dark undertones that aim to create discomfort and horror for the audience.
