Donka

Nadica is late for school for her last exam. At the last moment, she decides to call her teacher and tell that her grandmother is dead. But the teacher postponed the exam because she also have to go to funeral. Nadica is in the shadow of her lie and now she has to go to the city cemetery and look for a dead granny to evict her lie to the end.

Director Biography - Aleksandar Arsovski













Aleksandar Arsovski is young filmmaker who finished film directing in the Film Academy in Shtip, Macedonia. He has been worked in several films in Macedonian feature and short films, like: “God exists, her name is Petruniya”, “Snake”, “Ashes”, “My biggest wish”, “The Infected Area of Mara and Zharko” etc.
During education, he was on “Erasmus + exchange” in Croatia where he was on practice in the biggest private TV station, Nova TV where he was working on a daytime TV series “Čista Ljubav” and a reality show.
He is a big lover of films and TV series, his films have been selected in several festival threw whole Europe and his last documentary has had premiere in festival in India. He is already know in Macedonia in all film festivals because every year he is taking part of them with his films.

Director Statement

All of us at some point are telling lies, especially in school when when every time we did not want to go on exam, we was telling stupid lies like: “My granny is dead”.
This film is showing one unusual day of a young girl who think that with one simple lie, she can solve all her problem, but something is wrong.
This film is more like a sitcom with one problem and a lot of person’s in the way. At some point can be seen the absurd of some of the steps that they decide to do in way to make the situation better.
