Döner Natur
A Viennese Movie from Duran Durmus Dogan
This summer is all about Attila’s new life: the Döner Take Away. He has big plans for
the Döner Take Away - he wants to create a cultural hotspot.
But Attila’s Döner Take Away isn’t a typical take away, rather an information exchange spot, a hub for gossip. A venue for lonely hearts, a substitute for a village square. It’s the home for the detached ones. Only Michael, a civil servant, who promises Atttila to support him with his unrealistic dreams, is taking advantage of him.
During all this summer, Attila has so much to do that he neglects his wife Fatima, who just arrived from Turkey to Vienna. She feels lonely and therefore starts an affair with Michael. Because this affair is not tolerated in Attilas family, his brothers start to put more and more pressure on him, until Fatima is finally deported back to Turkey and Attila looses his Döner Take Away.
