Don Markus is a Denver-based filmmaker who spent a decade acting and improvising in Chicago. Don moved behind the camera to focus on writing, directing, and producing films, creating JOYWRECK Productions with the help of his wife, Brittany. The word “drama” simultaneously represents comedy and tragedy, and JOYWRECK is a play on that concept.

Don's first feature film, A Colorado Road Trip (2024), follows JOYWRECK's core philosophy: create self-funded, micro-budget films with the goal to entertain and move an audience by toeing the line between comedy and tragedy.
