Dominique Maury Lasmartres heads for the world of cinema after a five years career as a web developer, a period where he started to share his passion for movies on his website, Silence... Action !
In 2011, at the age of 25, his admission at the ESRA Paris confirmed his desire for a new career and allowed him to get the knowledges to start as a camera assistant – and still thriving his taste for directing !
He directs two short movies during his training :
The first one, « Soixante-dix », made with an Iphone for a mobile film festival, was presented at the Short Film Corner of Cannes movie festival in 2012.
The second one, « Dissolution », shot during a 48 hours project at the ESRA, has won the prize of best editing.
After many projects close to the camera since 2013, the experimental short « Sága » marks his comeback as a director. The movie is selected at the Wiz-art 9th Lviv International Short Film Festival 2016 (Ukraine), in the section "Experimental is mental".
In late 2016, he enters the 7th Nikon Film Festival contest with the comedy « Je suis en terrasse », selected in the 50 finalists (among 1274 shorts) screened in Clermont Ferrand. The movie was also screened in Sweden (Västerås Filmfestival), Wales (Copper Coast Film Festival) and Indonesia (Minikino Film Week)
« Bonne nuit », a vertical short film made for the Nespresso Talents contest, reaches the ten french finalists in 2018.
« La fin des haricots » (Curtains for all of us, international title), his latest creation, mixes genres and thematics in the form of a crazy TV zapping.
