Dome Fest West

1. Submission Formats: Online screeners in Fisheye/Fulldome format must be embedded in each film's FilmFreeway submission profile. DVD submissions or physical hard drives will not be accepted.

2. Only completed entry packets will be processed and considered for festival presentation. A complete entry packet includes an online screener (in fulldome, equirectangular, or planar format) embedded in your FilmFreeway submission. For Live Experiences, the screener should be formatted to best represent the dome performance and may include close-up shots, wide-angle cutaways, and/or fulldome and equirectangular formats. Passwords are encouraged.

Please provide the following information in your FilmFreeway submission:
a. The title and synopsis of the film.
b. Complete producer, director, cast, and artist credits.
c. A headshot and bio of the director or producer.
d. Submission fee. (to be paid through FilmFreeway)
e. A Digital Press kit that includes (5) Hi-Resolution JPEG stills from the film and (5) Behind-the-scenes stills.
f. NOTE: Dome Fest West is not responsible for any incorrect wording in publications or awards if the information provided in the entry form is incorrect.

3. Each entry must be a separate submission. If you select more than one film category for your film you must pay the full entry fee for each category.

4. Student films must include a copy of a current student ID or proof of current enrollment. Copies of student ids can be uploaded to FilmFreeway or e-mailed to [students@DomeFestWest.com](mailto:students@DomeFestWest.com).

5. Complete submission packets must be completed by the deadline dates below.
1. Super Early Deadline - November 03, 2023
2. Regular Deadline - December 22, 2023
3. Late Deadline - January 12, 2024
4. Last Call Deadline - February 2, 2024

6. Works in progress are not encouraged. Submissions will be juried in the state they are received.

7. To qualify for the 2024 Dome Fest West submissions for all film categories must have been completed after January 1, 2022.

8. Submissions that have screened at previous Dome Fest West events are ineligible to be programmed again. That includes projects that have been completed after the January 1, 2022 qualifying deadline.

9. All official selection films selected to be in competition for the 2024 festival will not be eligible to receive screening fees.

10. By submitting your movie, you authorize Dome Fest West to use, distribute and share film segments, the film poster, trailer, synopsis, and stills in our social media and further promotional events tied directly to the festival and authorized partner festivals.

11. Official selection filmmakers will be required to provide one digital file of their official selection film or video of their live dome experience for festival screenings. Digital domemaster files must be 4k x 4k H.264 or H.265 file formats with fisheye/fulldome mapping (encoding details to be provided upon selection).

12. Live Fulldome Performance category submissions must be a recording of a live performance. Submissions should be no less than 15 minutes and no more than 120 minutes in length. This duration includes all credits and titles.
a. Resolution: A minimum resolution of 1920x1080 for HD video and 2048x2048 for fulldome format is required. Higher resolutions are welcome.
b. Audio: Stereo or 5.1 surround sound audio formats are accepted.
13. Submissions in the Live Interactive Experience category must consist of participant-driven experiences that allow the audience(s) to directly and immediately influence what is displayed on the dome. Entries can be of any genre or type.
a. Experiences must be capable of outputting via an HDMI cable with the fulldome image centered in the frame at the resolution of 3840x2160 and a frame rate of 30fps. While audio is not required, it is encouraged.

14. If your film is selected as an official submission the cost of transferring digital copies of festival screeners to the Festival must be paid by the entrant. Live experience entrants may also be selected to perform at Dome Fest West by special invitation.

15. Entrant confirms and warrants required legal authority to submit the entry into the Festival and to use all music, images, and content in the entry. Entrant will allow usage of clips from the entry for promotional use on television, radio, in print, and at live Festival events.

16. By submitting the filmmaker confirms that they are duly authorized to submit the film to Dome Fest West without the consent of any third party (or, if the consent of other parties is required, all of them are also signing this Agreement).

17. All submissions to Dome Fest West will also be included the Best of Earth awards competition and associated promotions. Best of Earth Partner Festivals are chosen based on past performance and industry acceptance and may include Fulldome Festival (Jena, Germany), Dome Under Festival (Melbourne, Australia), Fulldome UK (Plymouth, UK), SAT Fest (Montréal, Canada), and other reputable dome festivals. Submissions that screen at these events as part of the 2024 festival will not be eligible to receive screening fees.

18. By submitting the filmmaker confirms and warrants required legal authority to submit the entry into the Festival. The film does not violate any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights of any person or entity. Releases for music, images, content, and talent must be obtained by the filmmaker. Dome Fest West is not liable for copyright infringement or unauthorized use.
