If there’s one thing we can all agree on, it’s that life is never static for long. In my time, I’ve been a published songwriter, singer, studio manager background vocalist, painter, jeweler, personal assistant, and a successful Realtor. I’d skip over that last one because it sounds ‘Not Like The Others’ but it really was a boon and just what was needed as a platform to launch the next chapter I like to call ‘The Awakening’. With thanks to my grandson, Cody Reed, who was 10 at the time, I found an exciting, untapped zest for film. He had announced his ambition to become a film actor and I, desiring the opportunity to be a supportive influence, set out to find an industry bound acting class for him. Oddly enough, for the wilds of west Georgia, I located just the place about a spit down the road from us. I found I couldn’t sit in the waiting room like the other more well behaved family members. I took a perch in the corner to watch my boy’s progress. The acting teacher, Kelly Young Silva of Words In Motion Acting Studios had an excellent style of training these kids. Soon enough, we were collaborating on a film project to give the entire class feature film screen time. After eight months of filming every weekend with the kids I had enough divine ignorance and arrogance to feel I could write screenplays and produce them independently. So I did! What you will see on this platform tells the story from there.
The road goes ever onward. My journey has led me here. And for now I’m content to stay. The possibilities of subjects to write about and film seem endless and I’m having fun! People seem to like them, particularly the kids! I hope you see something that gives you joy, a laugh or possibly something to think about.
