Do You Mind If I Join You? performance
"Do you mind if I join you?" deal with the life of expats, people who live temporarily or permanently outside their home country. Unlike a refugee, an expat does not run away, he or she chooses to move away peacefully, not under duress.
His or her motivation is the desire for a new, better or simply different life. Becoming an expat is a bit of an adrenaline rush, offering new opportunities with a new culture and maybe also a new language, endless travel possibilities, new friendships, but that doesn't mean it's easy.
Of course, with all the excitement an expat experiences when building a new life abroad comes a few unpleasant obstacles. But these obstacles provide many opportunities for personal growth as you learn how to overcome and accept the challenges you face. For example, culture shock, language barrier, or even loss of identity are a common part of the process.
