The series starts off with Michelle getting kicked out of college in Ohio for underage drinking and vandalism. Her mother disowns her, Michelle is forced to move in with her estranged father John and his partner Danny in San Francisco.

John is Italian, Catholic, conservative gay, who runs an Italian bakery that has been in the family for 69 years. Specializing in Italian treats made from scratch. Due to increasing rents in San Francisco he has no choice but to close it down.

Danny is a flamboyant flight attendant who has a secret, he performs drag behind John’s back. He is a closeted drag queen because he doesnt think John would understand or could handle another coming out. John can barely handle the fact hes divorced to a woman and gay.

Speaking of coming out. Michelle is struggling with her sexuality, is trying to find a way to forgive her father for abandoning her all those years ago, as well as find herself.

The three of them have to learn to live with each other without killing one another. Let the drinks flow, glitter fly and dance music play.

Director Biography - Kena Tangi Dorsey

Kena Tangi Dorsey earned her BFA in Drama from Carnegie Mellon University and an MFA in Filmmaking, Directing at New York Film Academy, LA.

As an actress, Kena has performed in a long list of
musicals and plays on Broadway, Off-Broadway, National Tours, Regional Theater, Labs and Workshops. She’s also appeared on various TV shows.

As a filmmaker, Kena is an award-winning Director for two of her original films “Sistahs in the Name of Love” and “Jump
the Broom: A Musical” that she wrote, produced and directed. Last year, Kena produced, directed and edited Tony, Grammy, and Emmy Award Winner, Billy Porter’s “Wash that Man” music video.

Kena also has a passion for education and mentoring young girls. She is the Director of TV Production, and the High School Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Coordinator at Campbell Hall High School, as well as an adjunct professor at Los Angeles City College where
she teaches multi-camera television production and cinema courses.

Kena created and designed a film and television production workshop that she runs for elementary kids in Los Angeles every summer. She has partnered with organizations such as LA’s Best, Homeboys Industries and I Have a Dream LA, Foundation to bring television and filmmaking workshops to students in high risk and underserved communities in the Los Angeles area.

Kena wrote, produced and directed an educational documentary called “Portraits of a Black Girl.” This film focuses on diversity, inclusion and female empowerment for young African American teenage girls in independent schools. It premiered at the National People of Color Conference and has made the rounds in various educational conferences in and around Los Angeles.

In Kena’s spare time, she continues to write, produce, direct and edit independent film and video projects and makes African art quilts as a hobby.
