Discours de la méthode
When life is aphasic, Alberto looks for the right words. He just bought a powered helmet to help learn languages. But when desire is the guide to our actions, if a man looks for solutions, he gets lost in reflections. The world becomes a projection of his desire, and when desire gets frustrated, the world moves further and further away. What is it about the Future? What will we find? Where will we be?
A short moral tale adapted to the contemporary stalemate in moral beliefs. A strong nostalgic idea of Past, a scared and ambitious conception of Future, we’re stuck in the middle. The Middle Age. Descartes sort us out of it, claiming the individual: cogito ergo sum. With a pinch of irony, this movie is the - impossible - film adaptation of René Descartes’ book Discours de la méthode.
A magic helmet. A hallucinated wandering. A delirium of voice. Discours de la méthode plunges us into a surprising universe, suspended between science-fiction camp and a philosophical comedy, hypnotized by the strange melody of a broken recorder.

Enrico Turci (Forlì, 1987) worked a lot in the past on documentary films, recently turning into fiction with his first experimental short-movie “Discours de la Méthode”, a free cinematic update and adaptation of Descartes’ book.
He uses mainly expanded photography and video to develop a quest on the possibility for representation between narration and indexicality.
"Discours de la méthode" is a movie that tries all the time to say something, but somehow it always fails.
