Director Biography - Shalom Chidimma Omo-Osagie

Shalom Omo-Osagie is a professional actress and writer born and raised in Baltimore, MD. She studied Theatre at Patapsco Center for the Arts in Dundalk, MD before receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Theatre (Acting/Directing) at Bowie State University. She has won Most Outstanding Play at the DC Black Theatre Festival for the play Before Closing Time. She has also worked with Theatre Alliance, Rep Stage, and The Kennedy Center. She is the CEO/Founder of an award-winning film company based in the DMV called 1939 Studios, LLC, a company dedicated to “Telling black stories through the eyes and mouths of black artists.”

Director Statement

Each of the films I have had a hand in the directing realm have had me grow as a filmmaker. Even being in the midst of the film I am making my full film directing debut is teaching me more and more about myself. I am up for any challenge and am still continuing to grow my directing credits. But what I can say is that the product I do have so far is from my passion and need to succeed! Would love to hear your feedback on my newest film 'Dantae's Inferno' which is my director debut.
