Director Statement

"Diplomacy" was inspired through my fascination of languages. I've always told myself, if I was to wake up tomorrow and find out I was immortal, I would immediately begin learning all languages.

Initially, I had a budget of $0 since this was meant to be a personal student film for a class, but me being me, I slowly became more and more ambitious in creating something more than that as the days went by. Despite being a stereotypical broke, college student, I muscled out $250 to fund this film.

The film nearly did not happen as I struggled to find a proper location to film in. Two days before my deadline to film, a special friend of mine swooped in and found me a location through AirBnB. After many thanks, filming took place over the course of two days. None of the actors ever actually met one another or filmed together. It felt more like a interview process; One arrives, we film their part, they leave, the next arrives, etc.
