Dina Lobo is a filmmaker, artist, and poet based in Toronto, Canada. Her work explores the emotional landscapes of sensuality, multi-racial identity, womanhood, and nostalgia—central themes that reflect her commitment to honouring the human experience through intimate and poetic storytelling.
Since directing her first documentary in 2016, Dina has gone on to direct three documentary films. She is deeply involved in every stage of the filmmaking process, having independently researched, interviewed, written, and edited several of her projects. This hands-on approach has shaped her distinctive voice as a storyteller and allowed her to engage more deeply with her subjects and themes.
Dina’s films are marked by a sense of compassion and emotional depth, often exploring the contradictions and quiet complexities of life. She is especially drawn to the grey areas—those fragile, vulnerable spaces where identity, memory, and emotion intersect. Through a blend of visual intimacy and lyrical sensitivity, Dina creates work that fosters connection and encourages reflection.
As both a filmmaker and poet, she continues to use her multidisciplinary lens to craft narratives that resonate across cultures and lived experiences, always seeking to bring light to the subtleties that define our shared humanity
