Private Project

Día A Día

The low-budget documentary "Día A Día" unbiasedly depicts the daily life of struggling individuals in La Paz, Bolivia. The trust between the German NGO "Soforthilfe La Paz e.V." and the characters enables a personal relationship to document stories that would otherwise remain hidden.

Director Biography - Jan Philip Baldus, Tobias Kraus

Jan Philip Baldus, born 1995 in Frankfurt am Main and grown up in Lower Bavaria, found his enthusiasm for film and photography at an early age. At the age of 15 he began to explore the world through his camera and finally found himself in Rhineland-Palatinate to study time-based media at the University of Applied Sciences Mainz. During his studies he was mainly interested in outdoor and sports films, but increasingly developed an interest in documentary works. Together with his long-time friend Tobias Kraus, he decided to capture the moving stories of alcoholics and a bitterly poor family in La Paz. This thought now manifests itself in his documentary debut "Día A Día".
