Dharti
“ There’s Love in all our hearts and in return we want to be loved. But there’s only one, whose love is unconditional. Thats’s Mom “
This Short film, is a story of a Mother’s undying love for his child.
As usual, Dharti sharma (36) is late to leave from work today, the clock strikes 6 P.M. as she starts packing her handbag to leave for home. Being a government office, the crowd has already reduced to a minimum. Dharti hastily leaves the office.
Her first encounter on her way home, is with the Peon of the office, who sits outside the office door, just near the corridor, where the lifts are. In the conversation with the Peon, we come to know the reason as to why she is in a hurry.
Her son Dhruv is alone at home. The Peon knows, that this is not the first time, this has happened with her. After a brief conversation, Dharti leaves the office building heading towards the bus stop.
She waits for the bus, the one she takes when she misses the regular one. While eagerly waiting for the bus, she comes across an old friend Radhika. Radhika asks Dharti about the office work and her personal life. She also tries to pacify Dharti a little, just to ease the tension off her mind. They too have a brief conversation until the bus arrives.
The conductor on the bus recognises Dharti and says that her missing the earlier bus gives him a chance to serve her. It’s sweet gesture shown by the conductor. But all along this, Dharti’s face is brewing with tension about her son being alone. She reaches her society gate, enters it.
She enters her apartment and sees her son sitting at the dining table. There’s sorry written all over her face, she tries to have a conversation with her son, but the son doesn’t reply...
From the beginning we see, how much concerned Dharti is for Dhruv. Perhaps a little too much... What is the reason behind this? Is there some part of the puzzle, that we are missing? What does the story hold in the final minutes?.....
